Subscriptions & Pricing

Rubric is free during beta. A paid subscription model launches in March 2026 — no one will be charged without explicit consent.

Current Status

Rubric is in a free beta period. All features are available at no cost. This includes full AI coaching, unlimited nutrition logging, HealthKit sync, Protocols, and scoring.

Planned Tiers

When the subscription model launches, Rubric will offer three tiers:

Exact feature boundaries between tiers have not been finalized. This article will be updated with specifics when pricing goes live.

How Subscriptions Work

Subscriptions are managed entirely through the Apple App Store. Rubric does not process payments directly and has no access to your payment information.

Managing Your Subscription

To upgrade, downgrade, or cancel:

  1. Open iOS Settings on your device.
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select Rubric and make your change.

Rubric cannot modify your subscription on your behalf. All billing changes go through Apple.

Restoring Purchases

If you reinstall the app or sign in on a new device, your subscription status syncs automatically via the App Store. If your subscription does not appear, go to Profile → Subscription and tap Restore.

Beta Transition

When the subscription model launches, all beta users will be notified in advance. The transition will require you to actively select a tier. No one will be charged without choosing a paid plan and confirming through the App Store purchase flow.
